SDG Helper Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy outlines how SDG Helper ("we, "us", "the bot") collects, uses, and protects user information while you use the bot on the Discord platform.

When this Policy specifies "ID", we are talking about what Discord calls "Snowflakes", which are globally unique numbers assigned to various Discord objects (such as accounts, guilds, channels), which contain encoded information, such as the creation time of the object.

SDG Helper is a helper for running social-deduction games on Discord.

Note that this Privacy Policy only applies for the officially hosted SDG Helper, and not any self-hosted instances

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum amount of information required for proper functionality:

Guild IDs of servers the bot is in, with specifed configurations (such as scroll lots power)
Channel IDs, and Forum Tag IDs of configured factions & subalignments
Account IDs of users who have made a SDG Helper account, or has had one made for them by a guild administator (tied to guild)
User specified information, such as faction/subalignment names, achivement title & names, etc.

3. How We Use Your Information

Configuration information is used to save guilds' perferences between restarts
SDG Helper accounts keep track of equipped scrolls, amount of wins and losses, and earned achivements. SDG Helper accounts are not required to use the bot.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties.

5. Data Storage and Retention

Guild-specfic data can be removed by using the commands to remove all factions
Users can delete their SDG Helper account with the /account delete command in the respective guild
Otherwise, the data may be kept forever

6. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the limited data we handle, including encryption for data stored at-rest.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You can stop using the bot at any time
You can disable the bot's features, or kick it from your guild
You may delete your SDG Helper accounts with commands

Users may contact the bot owner through Discord (@doggielicc), or email (doggie@doggieli.cc) to get their information deleted or ask questions

8. Children's Privacy

The bot is not intended for use by individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top will reflect the latest version. Older revisions are visible via version control. Continued use of the bot after changes means you accept the updated policy.
