Doggie Bot Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy outlines how Doggie Bot ("we, "us", "the bot") collects, uses, and protects user information while you use the bot on the Discord platform.
When this Policy specifies "ID", we are talking about what Discord calls "Snowflakes", which are globally unique numbers assigned to various Discord objects (such as accounts, guilds, channels), which contain encoded information, such as the creation time of the object.
Doggie Bot can be used as a moderation tool for Discord guild moderators, or as a personal tool for utility purposes
Note that this Privacy Policy only applies for the officially hosted Doggie Bot, and not any self-hosted instances
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum amount of information required for proper functionality:
- Recently deleted messages in guilds where a guild moderator has enabled the "snipe" functionality.
- Reminder information when an user uses the "remind" command, which includes the reminder, the remind time, the user's ID, the interaction object's id, and the destination's Text Channel ID (if provided)
- When an user gives a suggestion through the "suggest" command, their suggestion and User ID are sent to us.
- Guild IDs for guilds where a guild moderator has set custom configurations
- Text Channel IDs of guilds where a guild moderator has set logging configurations
- Role IDs of guilds where a guild moderator has set mute configurations
- Anonymous data is collected for how often certain commands are used
3. How We Use Your Information
- Configuration information is used to save guilds' perferences between restarts
- Deleted messages are stored so that guild moderators can view recently deleted messages, to help with moderation.
- Reminders are stored so that the bot can send the reminder to its destination
- Suggestions are used to improve the bot based on our user's requests
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties. Some commands request external public APIs, Any data shared with these services is governed by their respective privacy policies.
- The "random unsplash" command requests batches of random images from the Unsplash.com API
- The "random fox" command requests images from randomfox.ca
- The "random dog" command requests images from random.dog
- The "random duck" command requests images from random-d.uk
- The "random furry" commands requests images from yiff.rest
- The "saucenao" command does reverse-lookups for specifed images, using saucenao.com
- The "game osu" commands requests information from osu.ppy.sh
- The "game minecraft" command requests "Minecraft: Java Edition" account information from api.minecraftservices.com
5. Data Storage and Retention
- Command interaction data is handled in real-time, and is not stored
- Deleted messages are only stored in memory, and only the most recent 10000 deleted messages are stored, and are lost when the bot proccess restarts, or when the snipe function is disabled by a guild moderator
- Reminder information is deleted when the reminder finishes, or when the user cancels the reminder
- Guild configurations are removed when the bot is removed from the guild
6. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the limited data we handle, including encryption for data stored at-rest.
7. Your Rights and Choices
- You can stop using the bot at any time
- You can disable the bot's features, or kick it from your guild
8. Children's Privacy
The bot is not intended for use by individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top will reflect the latest version. Older revisions are visible via version control. Continued use of the bot after changes means you accept the updated policy.
